Can I add canonical URL for my article?

The same content of an article can exist in different Support Center URLs which use the same Knowledgebase. This is punishable by search engines and can lower the page score.

In order to avoid such issues you can choose which URL will be the main one and add it to canonical URL field which will be added to the canonical tag and this will tell search engines which version of a URL you want to appear in search results. You can read more about such tags here: https://yoast.com/rel-canonical/

For better understanding, check this example:
Article ID is  22334455
Main SC address is  support.world.com
Article's main (canonical) address is  support.world.com/22334455

Secondary Support Center address is help.earth.com and article's address there is help.earth.com/22334455  while the content is the same.

So, in order to prevent search engine punishment for duplicated content, help.earth.com support center should have canonical tag with URL support.world.com/22334455

In order to setup canonical article go to console => "All articles" section =>  Select article you want to edit => Navigate to "Options" tab

Once it is done for all articles, you will also need to contact us so we could add the required canonical link element to all your articles.
